Property tools

The property checker and calculators run in your browser. The details entered into those tools are not submitted to Rural Property Check unless you separately choose to send a local-help request.

Local-help requests

When you submit the local-help form, we collect the contact details, property location, service category, project stage and message you provide. We use this information to review and respond to the request and, when appropriate, connect you with a potential local provider. The form also processes limited technical information needed for security and spam prevention.

Provider-interest forms

When a company applies to join the provider network, we collect its business and contact information, services, coverage area, website and optional notes. We use that information to evaluate and communicate about possible participation. Provider submissions are reviewed internally and do not automatically create an account or activate lead routing.

When information may be shared

We may share the details of a specific request with a potential provider who may be able to help with that request. We do not sell submitted contact information as a general marketing list. Information may also be disclosed when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect the site and its users.

Operations and retention

Request information may be stored in our protected operations database, business email and hosting systems for routing, follow-up, reporting, recordkeeping and security. Authorized Rural Property Check personnel can review requests, update their status and add internal notes. Delivery records may show whether a request email was sent to us, the requester or a potential provider.

Your choices

You may ask that your submitted contact information be corrected or deleted by contacting us through the same email conversation used for your request, subject to legal and operational recordkeeping needs.

Basic technical data

Like most websites, the hosting provider may process basic request information such as IP address, browser type, requested pages, timestamps and security logs to deliver and protect the site.

External links

The site links to government offices, maps and other third-party resources. Their privacy practices apply when you leave Rural Property Check.

Site measurement

The site records limited aggregate events such as whether a calculator was used, a Property Check was completed or a local-help request was accepted. These measurement records do not contain the numbers or answers entered into the tools, names, email addresses, phone numbers, property addresses or free-form messages. They are used to understand which tools and county pages are useful.

Advertising

The site does not currently use a cross-site advertising or behavioral-targeting program. If advertising or additional analytics services are added, this policy will be updated to explain the new processing.

Changes

The effective date above will be revised when this policy materially changes.
